Kundalini: The Energy That Changes Everything
Kundalini is a vast subject, but put simply, it is your raw creative life force energy - the intelligent current of consciousness described in yogic and tantric traditions as lying dormant at the base of the spine.
This energy is not something we “get.” It is something we already are.
When awakened, Kundalini begins to move through the body, rising up the spine and through the chakras. In tantric philosophy, this movement of Shakti toward union with Shiva symbolises the integration of our inner polarities and a return to wholeness. It is the reconciliation of matter and spirit, body and consciousness, human and divine.
But Kundalini is not just symbolic. It is lived. It is felt. It is embodied.
When the Energy Wakes Up
Kundalini expresses itself through the nervous system.
When it activates, people often report physical sensations: heat rising through the spine, tingling or currents of electricity in the body, spontaneous movements (known as kriyas), changes in breathing, waves of emotion, altered perception.
It can feel like your system is being reorganised from within.
Perception sharpens. Intuition strengthens. Old emotional responses begin to loosen. Long-held patterns rise to the surface to be seen, processed, and integrated. Many describe it as a kind of neurological rewiring - not in a clinical sense, but in the lived experience of how they respond to life.
You don’t think the same. You don’t react the same. You don’t see the world the same.
Kundalini Rising is a wake-up call.
My Spontaneous Awakening
I didn’t awaken Kundalini through a retreat or a practice. Mine rose spontaneously during surgery for triple negative breast cancer.
A force that moved through me that no one could not explain with the rational mind or logical thinking. It took me a couple of years to understand what had happened but immeditately, it changed everything.
I eventually realised this was not something to fight. It was something to work with. The energy began bringing old wounds, unconscious patterns, and unprocessed emotions to the surface. I had to meet them. I had to do the shadow work. I had to ground myself. I sought mentors. I immersed myself in integration.
That is the part many people don’t speak about.
Kundalini does not bypass your humanity and take you blissfully to enlightenment.
She intensifies your human experience. She makes you more human.
She brings you face to face with what is unresolved.
But if you stay with it - if you work with her rather than resist her - she guides you back to your essence.
Why People Are Drawn to Kundalini
At some level, most of us are seeking wholeness. We want to feel aligned. Clear. Connected. Purposeful.
Kundalini takes us back to our natural state. She opens the heart. She dissolves illusions built on fear. She encourages us to live from truth rather than conditioning.
On a practical level, as the energy rises, unresolved trauma and emotion often surface to be integrated. As internal alignment deepens, external life begins to shift. Relationships change. Opportunities appear. Desires recalibrate. Direction clarifies.
But it is not a magic pill.
You must participate in your transformation. Shakti will bring your material to the surface but you must do the work.
When my own Awakening began, I thought I had to reinvent myself completely. But what I discovered was far more liberating: I wasn’t broken. I wasn’t missing anything.
I simply had to meet the parts of myself I’d abandoned, bring them into the light, and let them guide me back to truth. That was where the real transformation happened.
Is Kundalini Dangerous?
One of the biggest misconceptions about Kundalini is that she is inherently dangerous.
Kundalini is our natural life force energy.
What can feel overwhelming is not the energy itself, but the speed at which unconscious material can surface. Without grounding, support, or integration, this can destabilise the nervous system.
I would never recommend trying to force an awakening.
I would never recommend walking this path alone.
Readiness, pacing, and support matter deeply.
When held in a safe, intentional container — with grounding, discernment, and proper guidance — Kundalini work can be profoundly life-changing.
The Evolutionary Invitation
Personally, I believe we are living in a time where more people are being called to awaken their spiritual energy. Not to escape the world - but to transform within it.
Kundalini is not about becoming “more spiritual.” It is about becoming more real. More integrated. More embodied. More conscious.
It is an evolutionary force moving through humanity - and it asks something of us in return:
Courage.
Honesty.
Responsibility.
Integration.
If You Feel the Stirring…
If something in you resonates with this - if you feel the stirring of deeper energy, the surfacing of old patterns, the sense that your life is rearranging itself from the inside out - you are waking up to a deeper truth.
And you do not have to navigate it alone.
The Awakening is my guided container for those walking this path.
Inside this soul-development programme, we work with:
Shadow integration
Nervous system grounding
Conscious embodiment
Spiritual expansion without bypassing
Real-life integration of awakened energy
Kundalini Activation
This is not about chasing peak states, it is about stabilising your expansion and becoming who you truly are.
